Crosby’s global training programme benefits from LEEA accreditation scheme

Senior trainers working worldwide for the Crosby Group Inc. have been successfully assessed and accredited by the LEEA. The trainers are responsible for the company’s CEN/ASME-based slinging and rigging seminar, which provides trainees with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to recognise and identify unsafe conditions when using Crosby’s rigging hardware and equipment.

As part of the accreditation process, LEEA technical officer Kevin Crilly assessed trainers including Danny Bishop, director of training for Crosby USA, as well as those working in territories such as Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Caspian region, Russia and India. Rob Van Put, director of training, Crosby Europe, said: “The feedback provided by Kevin will benefit our trainers in their efforts to educate end users in improved risk management.”

Introduced in April 2009, the LEEA’s accreditation scheme is designed to provide customers with independent verification that training courses meet a rigorous set of standards, encompassing training facilities, instructors, course content and student assessment. Only member companies that pass an audit by LEEA’s technical officers are allowed to display the LEEA Accredited Training logo. The Crosby Group was one of the first to secure accredited status.
